Greetings Brother Knights,
Grand Knight’s Report
As we come to the end of the year, it is a time to reflect on the past and look forward to the challenges in the upcoming year. We continue to look to God for strength and love for the blessings and events in our daily lives.
I want to thank everyone that made contributions to our Sentiment for Seminarians drive. We were able to collect 5 boxes of items that Bill Paar took to the District Deputy meeting to be distributed.
I want to let everyone know that we welcomed 2 new members to our Council. Shawn Lyons and Jeff Schmidt took the Admission Degree at our November Council Meeting. Welcome Shawn & Jeff!
Fellow Knight’s time & efforts do make a difference!!!!
Due to everyone’s help with the Pancake Breakfast in October and the those that stopped by for breakfast, after expenses we were able to collect $928.00. Our council added $72.00 for a total of $1,000. This amount was sent for Hurricane Relief for those affected in Puerto Rico.
We also donated $300 to the Multicultural Center. The Multicultural Center serves meals daily for those in need, so our donation is used to assist them in their efforts. We also donated $340.18 to the Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities and $2,500 to Five Seminarians for use with the education and needs.
These donations would not be possible without the efforts of our Council and Fellow Knights. We have many Knights that donate their time and talents to our Parish and the Community, that is also very much appreciated.
Finally, our Council would not be successful in our efforts without the support of our Community and fellow Parish members. Thank you again to everyone involved!
The State Raffle is coming up. Mark Rayha our Council Chairman will be sending out the tickets in the mail within the next few weeks. Please help out with our biggest fund raiser by selling or buying tickets. Last year as a Council we sold a total of 1,032 tickets. We received back from the State $2,577.50 from the sales to be used by our Council as needed in our charity efforts. Mark also said he would have the tickets at our Council Christmas party that can be picked up to save on mailing them out. Any questions feel free to contact Mark at 354-6153 or by email. Thank you.
FYI, 2018 Membership dues are approaching. Notices will be coming in the mail in the next few weeks. Yearly dues are $27.15. Please consider getting your payment to Clem LaMare.
This year’s KC State Bowling Tournament will be held in Stevens Point, WI on February 17th & 18th. James Esser again is chairing this event. Please contact Jim if you are interested in participating. This is a fun event and high bowling skills are not required. Jim can be reached at 845-7959.
As Tony noted in his report, we would request that you submit your recommendation letters for Medallion Award and Family of the Year. Feel free to let me know if you have questions.
Discussion has begun to get ideas for our Council’s approaching 25th Anniversary Celebration. Please let me know if you have any thoughts our would like to be on the committee.
May everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
